Pistol & Rifle Ranges

Pistol & Rifle Range OVERHAUL

Watching for signs of progress on the new rifle range project seemed like slow (or no) motion.

Looking back to 2010 when the project started, we have changed the landscape but we are still using the original building and range. We have literally moved thousands of cubic meters of earth.

Even with the generous discounts we have been extended, the range

relocation/upgrade is now into its third year. But, look at the enhancements we have made.

The archery range has been relocated up the hill, fill was moved in to allow a longer archery range and wow, what a range, complete with a lawn.

We have roughed in the primitive campsite and we have made minor modifications and improvements to the pistol/handgun ranges.

When we are done and finished, and thanks to the patience of all our members, we will have a 300 meter range.

Our ranges are very active, not only supporting our members, groups, but also Law Enforcement, Conservation, Sheriffs, Cadets and Rangers to name but a few.

WE HAVE ...300 yards

Pictures from the past work parties showing the new rifle shack construction and construction of the rifle range.  We are done, finished...   We had some busy beavers and the rifle shack looks great.  A hearty thanks to everyone that helped see this project through to completion.

Pistol Bay Renaming

Hey everyone.... It is official.  The new range has been permitted.  We have been approved for all rifle cartridges contained in the template groups - .22 Long Rifle, .223, Remington, .308 Winchester, .338 Lupua Magnum and .50 Browning Calibre.

Please visit the events calendar and watch for range closures before you leave for the Range and are disappointed.

As many of our members know, a life member of the club passed away after a short battle with cancer.

In memory of Elton Anderson, the executive and membership have unanimously agreed to rename the pistol range.

Watch for the posting of the name plaque in his honour.

RIP Elton.  You will be sorely missed.
